Kristin Chamberlain, Director

B.A. in Child Development
M.A. in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Child Studies and Marriage and Family Therapy

Kristin has dedicated her life to supporting young children and families, a passion that began in 2006. Born and raised on Kauai, Hawai‘i, she grew up in a culture rooted in community, respect for nature, and deep interpersonal connection.
In 2008, she moved to California to pursue a career centered on early childhood development, bringing with her the values instilled by her island upbringing.

Throughout her journey, Kristin earned a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in child studies and marriage and family therapy. She gained extensive hands-on experience across a variety of settings — including working as a nanny, child care provider, preschool teacher, assistant director, and as a clinician providing therapy to young children and families.

In 2019, Kristin combined her education, experience, and passion to open Footsteps Preschool & Infant Care from her home. In 2025, Footsteps continues to grow, expanding from its original Playa Vista home-based program into a full center-based preschool and infant care space in Mid-City Los Angeles, a purpose-built center designed to serve more families in a warm, community-focused environment.
